The flea is very small, 1/8” in length. It is wingless with piercing sucking mouthparts. Its color is black to reddish brown. The flea has well developed legs that allow it to jump 5 to 8 inches straight up.

Ticks can range in size from 1/8” to 3/16”. Their color ranges from tan to red-brown to a blue-grey when filled with blood. Their body is flat and shaped like a tear drop. Their mouth parts can best be seen from above.
Are similar is shape as ticks but smaller. Their size is approx. 1/32” long, they have 8 legs, and are more transparent then ticks.
Are very small and can not be seen with the eye. They are 250 to 300 microns in length. They are oval in shape with hair all around them. They have six hairy legs, a tough translucent shell, no eyes and no antennae.
