Flies & Gnats
The blow fly ranges is size from ¼” to ½” in. They are identified by their color which varies from metallic blue, green, or yellow-brown. They have one pair of wings and sponging mouth parts.
Is approx. 3/8” long. They are grey in color and have yellow to golden hairs on their back, around the base of their head, and at the base of their wings closest to their body
Is 1/8 inch long. Their color is a dull yellow-brown to a dark brown. They have red eyes and their wings have two breaks near their body.
Gnats are very small ranging from 1/32” to 7/16’. They are usually black, brown or yellowish in color. They have smoke colored wings that may have spots on them. Their body is slender with long legs.
